Sun Style

Home ‣ Tai Chi ‣ Sun Style

These programs are based on the Sun style (孫氏) of Tai Chi (t'ai chi ch'uan) which is well known for its smooth, flowing movements. This style omits the more physically vigorous crouching, leaping of some other styles.

The footwork of Sun style is unique, when one foot advances or retreats the other follows. It also exhibits small circular movements with the hand. Its gentle postures and high stances make it very suitable for seniors and people with limited movement.

Dr Paul Lam and his team at the Tai Chi for Health Institute along with medical specialists have created a range of programs (called the Tai Chi for Health programs) to help improve health and wellness. Various health organisations around the world support these programs as medical studies have proven these programs to be safe and effective.
